Lily of the Valley Ernest Samuel
Lily of the Valley
Ernest Samuel Llime - April, 2009 - NY
G Am
Lily of the valley in my garden,
Eve's tears could never be a burden
Reminds me of the valleys I once fought in,
Sin be on the head of those who wars begin.
CHORUS:
Bullets flying, my buddies dying,
No mercy and no release.
My country and it's enemies
Today they are at peace.
Sometimes I dream of other gardens
Miles and miles of stones that mark the dead
I stand alone right in the middle
Playing a requiem on my fiddle
CHORUS:
Bullets flying, my buddies dying,
No mercy and no release.
My country has more enemies
Where now is the peace?
Lily of the valley in my garden,
Eve's tears could never be a burden
Reminds me of the valleys I once fought in,
Sin be on the head of those who wars begin.
CHORUS:
Bullets flying, my buddies dying,
No mercy and no release.
My country and it's enemies
Today they are at peace.
My friends are now of varied faiths, they come from many countries.
My faith is: no one has the right to call them enemies.
Best soldiers gone, what's left is me,
But in the next war I won't be.
CHORUS:
Bullets flying, my buddies dying,
No mercy and no release.
I don't deserve the torch I carry,
Who passed on to me?
